Origin of the Product
Shea butter is sourced from the shea trees of Burkina Faso, a country recognized as one of the world’s largest producers of shea nuts. The trees grow in the wild, with no need for fertilizers or pesticides, and are an important part of the country’s economy, particularly for women in rural communities.
Shea Butter: Benefits and Best Uses
Shea butter is an essential ingredient in beauty, skincare, and wellness products due to its rich content of fatty acids and vitamins. It acts as a natural emollient, soothing and moisturizing dry, irritated skin while promoting healing.
Our shea butter and baobab oil provide rich, nourishing hydration, making them perfect for luxurious body butters, soothing lotions, and moisturizing lip balms that keep skin soft and supple.
Baobab oil's deeply moisturizing properties make it an excellent choice for deep conditioning treatments and scalp moisturizers, promoting healthy, shiny hair and a balanced scalp.
Shea butter’s healing properties make it ideal for creating natural salves and ointments that soothe and repair skin affected by burns, scars, and eczema, offering relief and promoting healing.
Cultivation Method
Shea butter is produced through a labor-intensive process that has been passed down through generations. Shea nuts are harvested from the shea tree, dried, roasted, and then ground into a paste. This paste is mixed with water and kneaded by hand to separate the fat, which is then boiled to produce pure shea butter. The entire process is done by women’s cooperatives in Burkina Faso, promoting sustainable livelihoods and preserving traditional methods.
